Jurisdiction J (Cahaba) Adopts the Molecular Diagnostics (MolDX) Program

The Molecualr Diagnostic (MOLDX) Services Program welcomes the states of Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.  The MolDX program was developed by Palmetto GBA in 2011, to identify and establish covrage and reimbursement for moeldulcar diagnostic tests.

Medicare part A and part B providers in the Jurisdiction J are now required to register all molecular tests with the online test registry, Diagnostics ExchangeTM (DEX), The registry assigns a unique Z-Code identifier to each molecular test. After the registration and application processes have been completed, the MolDX team will access the registry information to determine if a test meets the Medicare criteria for coverage.
